From Wednesday 18 December 2024 until Saturday 15 February 2025, the regular rotation of Allied Forces in Europe will take place. Due to the transit through the Republic of Slovenia, we can therefore expect an occasional increase in traffic between Koper and the border crossing points with Hungary.
The transport of Allied equipment is planned by train and road. The road and rail transit will be carried out from Koper towards Hungary in such a way as to minimise disruption to other road users. The military vehicle convoys will move outside peak hours and will be escorted by members of the SAF Military Police.
The Republic of Slovenia and the Slovenian Armed Forces are providing logistical support to the Allies and partners in the framework of the Host Nation Support, together with civilian partners in the Republic of Slovenia providing maritime, road and rail movements.
As a full member of the Alliance, the Republic of Slovenia respects fair burden-sharing both in deterring all forms of threat and in providing solidarity assistance. Within the Alliance, the Slovenian Armed Forces use common military power mechanisms and enhance their readiness and interoperability in cooperation with partner militaries.
